When extended working time is desired
West System 209 Extra Slow Hardener is formulated for use with West System 105 Epoxy Resin or general coating and bonding applications in extremely warm and/or humid conditions or when extended working time is desired at room temperature. Provides approximately twice the working time of 206 Slow Hardener. 105/209 forms a high-strength, moisture-resistant solid with excellent bonding and coating properties. The mix ratio is 3 parts resin to 1 part hardener by volume. Not intended for clear coating.
West System 209 Extra Slow Hardener Features:
- Formulated for use with West System 105 Epoxy Resin (Part 1)
- For bonding applications in extremely warm and/or humid conditions or when extended working time is desired at room temperature
- High strength
- Moisture resistant
- Excellent compatibility with paints and varnishes
- Not intended for clear coating
- Project uses: marine, boat repair, clear casting, coating, laminating, clear coating wood surfaces
West System 209 Extra Slow Hardener Specifications:
- Mix ratio 3 parts resin: 1 part hardener
- Minimum recommended temperature: 16°C (60°F)
- Cure time:
- Pot life (100 grams cupful) at 22°C (72°F): 40 to 50 minutes
- Working time (thin film) at 22°C (72°F): 3 to 4 hours
- Solid state at 22°C (72°F): 20 to 24 hours
- Cure to working strength: 4 to 9 days
- Cure temperature: minimum - at 21°C (70°F)
