The Reel
There’s arguably no name more famous in the electric dendoh reel category than Tanacom. After half a decade of meticulous research, testing and collaboration between Daiwa Japan engineers and teams within Australia and America, Daiwa introduces the all-new, totally overhauled Daiwa 22 Tanacom 1200 A Power Assist Electric Reel.

Unrelenting power
Tanacom 1200 uses the same reliable unit as the Tanacom 1000 but now sports a new design that incorporates the powerful motor inside the spool to enhance performance and efficiency. Installed in the new frame, the motor generates even more power thanks to an improved drivetrain which is expertly reengineered with beefier gears and internal components to improve durability and minimise power loss.

The Rod
Deepwater fishing can be challenging and rewarding, it's the ultimate endurance test for heavy-duty tackle. The Daiwa 23 Seapower Bent Butt Deep Drop Electric Reel Rod sports a blank constructed from Daiwa's GLATECH material, a combination of a carbon core wrapped perpendicular to the rod blank and longitudinal single axis fibreglass material which gives Seapower the desired soft and shock absorbing nature. Since almost all fights are conducted with the rod in a gunwale rod holder, a softer blank action is desirable for rods used with electric reels.

X45X Full Shield is also utilised to further enhance the torsional stiffness, a key component to Dendoh rods which further reduces blank twist and eliminates power loss during the fight. Fuji Silicon Carbide SiC guides in a striking gold finish really set this rod out from the crowd. A heavy-duty ALPS swivelling roller tip controls the line from the tip preventing tangles and ensuring a perfect retrieve. A custom Daiwa bent butt has been designed which was about achieving the perfect length for the Seapower Rod.
