The Reel
Catch large fish such as Yellowfin Tuna and Longtooth Grouper at overwhelming speed. With 43kg of Cross Carbon Drag output and able to retrieve line at an astonishing maximum speed of 170m/min, the Shimano Beastmaster MD 12000 A Electric Reel is ready to tackle monsters of the deep. The strongest and largest electric reel in Shimano's history, the Beastmaster MD 12000 was born with the goal of achieving full-fledged deep water and overwhelming power and speed for catching huge fish.
The heart of the powerdrive train bearing the name MD (Monster Drive) is the newly developed new GigaMax Motor with significantly improved performance. This motor utilises a brushless design to provide high torque and high speed while maximising durability. Meanwhile the Heat-Free system allows for heat to be released from the vents in the sideplate, ensuring reliable performance. Finally, the addition of the new Fine Dot LCD screen allows for easy viewing in all light conditions.
Hagane Body
The use of lightweight and rigid metals such as aluminium and magnesium firmly suppresses deflection, distortion and torsion of the reel. This protects delicate gear meshing and enables smooth reeling.
GigaMax Motor
The new GigaMax Motor utilises a brushless design to provide high torque and high speed while maximising durability.
Thermo Adjust Drag
Thermo Adjust Drag is a control function designed to suppress abnormal heat generation of the drag to maintain stable drag performance. If the drag slips while the motor of the electric reel is on, the gear will idle and cause an abnormal heat generation in the drag portion of the reel. To suppress excess heat, the speed of the motor is automatically reduced by the Thermo Adjust Drag when the drag begins to slip.
e-Exciting Drag Sound
The e-Exciting Drag Sound is an electronic drag sound from the reel when a fish makes a run. This creates a modern solution to the mechanical clicker while adding excitement to an angler's experience.
S-ARB
S-ARB bearings are put through the same process as Shimano's ARB bearings but feature shields on both sides of the bearings. These shields reduce the possibility of salt or sand inhibiting the rotation of the bearing.
Cross Carbon Drag
This drag material provides a wider range of drag settings, for the smoothest Shimano drag performance ever.
