Paua-friendly knife

Never use sharp objects when removing Paua from rocks or reefs. Paua are bleeders – any cut or injury which makes them bleed will kill them, so you need a specially designed knife that can be slid gently under the Paua to break the suction without damaging it. This means you can return undersized Paua safely by placing them back on the rock where they were found. However, you also need a reliable dive knife for safety reasons, e.g. free ourselves in case of entanglement in ropes, lines or aquatic plant life.

The Pro-Dive Buddy Chisel Tip Paua Knife is purpose-built to handle both jobs so you only need to carry one knife. This stainless-steel knife features a blunt, chisel tip to remove Paua from rocks and reefs without harming them. It also has a normal cutting blade on one side, and a serrated blade with line cutter on the other, making it easier to cut lines when needed. The stainless-steel hammer at the end of the grip can be used to make noise and attract the attention of dive buddies when needed. It comes complete with a snap lock sheath with straps so you're assured that your knife will not fall off from the sheath and it's ready to use anytime you need it.
