One of the most common boating accidents is damage to the main
propeller. When this happens you don't want to run the engine any
longer - this could cause more damage and costly repairs. So you
need to use the auxiliary engine to get everyone home safely. With
the E.Z. Steer Steering Link Kit, you can safely
and easily steer your auxiliary outboard engine from your boat's
main wheel even if one is raised or tilted.
The E.Z. Steer ties to your kicker motor to your main motor (or
sailboat rudder), allowing you to steer your auxiliary motor from
the helm. It has a patented self-adjusting stainless steel rod
which attaches between your main and auxiliary outboard engines.
There's no need to disconnect the rod, its length will self-adjust
and steer the auxiliary engine as long as you can steer your main
engine.
Suitable for connecting between two outboard motors (main and
auxiliary/trolling)
For engines 58cm (23") to 66cm (26") apart
centre-centre

Assembly Instructions:
The steering rod consists of two stainless steel tubes. To
assemble, simply insert the inner grooved tube into the outer
smooth tube with a twisting motion. Extend or contract the rod to
the approximate length.
Attach one end of the rod to the main unit bracket, pushing the
quick connector’s moveable collar down, inserting the end of the
ball joint into the quick connector, and re-leasing the collar. The
end should now be held securely in place. Repeat for other
end.
Reverse the order to remove the rod. Now check for
tension.
The rod is preset to approximately 20# of pressure and should
adjust to compensate for this position.
Do not oil or grease the rod, as it will gum up the détentes
and cause damage to the inner rod.
For proper fit, you need to establish the year and size of the
outboard, the year and size of your kicker and the distance between
the two motors.
