The Manson Racer Aluminium Anchor is the first anchor on the market specifically tailored for racing yachts of all sizes. Made using high tensile aluminium, it's fully welded and anodised ready for use. The Manson Racer is an effective anchor with great weight saving potential. Its hard wearing stability discs are designed to reduce the width of the lower balance bar. The balls are designed to encourage the anchor to set faster and resist rotation whilst embedded in the sea floor. Having a shorter bar means the anchor is easier to stow in lockers or anchor wells. The balls serve a secondary purpose to help avoid damage to your vessel by the often sharp ends and edges of the bar. The black balls are made from a hard wearing and heat resistance plastic.
With 12 different sizes available, the Manson Racer is also considered a great option as a stern anchor.
Manson Anchors also offer an optional padded, polyester lined bag with two interior pockets for chain and rope. This bag is only available for sizes R1 - R6. [click here]

Choosing the Correct D-Shackle Size:
When buying an anchor for your boat, you will need the appropriate D-Shackle to connect the rope and chain to your anchor. The recommended D-Shackle size for connecting your anchor to your chain is to get the next size up from your chain size. So if the chain is 6mm then an 8mm D-shackle is recommended. If it's a 7mm chain then an 8mm or 9mm D-shackle is recommended, etc.
