The rod has a firm backbone that allows for a quick hookset and great fish retention, while having smooth power transition so you can apply firm pressure to fish without fear of breaking light tippets.
Guide selection and placement on nymphing rods is critical to performance, and the Diamondback Ideal Nymph Fly Rod has the right components in the right places. It features three snake guides below the rod tip, which helps counter leader-wrapping problems of long leaders. Two lightweight single foot stripping guides create a smoother surface at the most critical contact areas while the rod is heavily flexed so you can take on those hard-fighting fish. Dark coloured single foot guides cover the area between the snake guides and the stripper guides. There's also a stripping guide on the butt section to minimise potential line sag.
The Diamondback Ideal Nymph Fly Rod sports a non-glare matte finish, down locking matte titanium colour hardware. It also has high density premium quality cork grips, Curly Koa wood spacers and compact fighting butts.
