Easy to install DIY cooling kit
When standard units don't fit, a DIY kit is a great alternative. The Isotherm Compact Classic 2016 Air Cooled DIY Refrigeration Kit is designed for do-it-yourself installation and comes complete with all the parts and components required. To simplify the installation, the system is split into two sections: the compressor/condenser unit and the evaporator. These sections are joined together by a flexible pipe fitted with quick-fitting connections, which can be easily connected and disconnected repeatedly without loss of refrigerant.
To achieve good operating results, the following is essential:
- The refrigerator must be well insulated. Use polyurethane or
similar foam 30 mm (1¼") thick for 50 litre (1.8 cu.ft.) boxes, 50
mm (2") for boxes up to 80 litre (2.8 cu.ft.) and 100 mm (4") or
more for larger boxes.
- Battery capacity should be at least of 75 Ah to enable
sufficient power to be stored during engine operation.
- All the electrical power supply equipment such as alternator,
regulator, cables, connectors and batteries must be kept in good
condition
