The Gamakatsu 510 Jigging Assist Hooks is a circle style stinger hook designed for use on vertical jig lures. This hook presents a solution to the common issue of missed strikes that are a result of fish striking the head of the lure when using vertical jigs. The setup is comprised of a short shank circle hook, heavy braided line and shrink tubing for added connection strength between the hook and braided loop.
The Gamakatsu 510 Hook is specially designed with a micro out-barb that won't catch or fray the main line. Additionally, the use of red braided line and shrink tubing to increase the stealth of the lure and may even add attraction as an artificial blood trail. The strength of the braided line isn't an issue as Gamakatsu uses 100lb test on the 1 - 3/0 sizes and 150lb on the 4/0.
