The Reel
Built for those who expect a reel that can handle the stress of hard-pulling fish, the new PENN Slammer IV 8500 Spinning Reel is packed with more features than ever before. Building off PENN's proven IPX6 sealed body and spool, the drag system is redesigned to not only be better sealed, but also offer a wider range of usable drag, all whilst being bearing supported for extra smoothness. Adding PENN's all brass CNC gear technology, 8+1 stainless steel bearing system and Hydrophobic Line Roller Bearing has made the Slammer IV the ultimate workhorse reel.

The Rod
The PENN Ocean Assassin 571XH Spin Jigging Rod is built using SLS3 construction which uses inner and outer spiral wrap layers of carbon fibre to sandwich middle layers of alternating longitudinal carbon and glass. The spiral wraps maintain a round cross section in the blank when under load which helps the blank handle higher loads. The middle layers of unidirectional carbon and glass create the backbone of the rod by utilising the strength of glass combined with the lightweight of the carbon fibre to deliver a strong, balanced and thin rod blank. Componentry is top notch with Fuji K Alconite guides, Fuji DPS reel seats featuring a machined and aluminium lock nut for improved reel security and contoured EVA grips for extreme comfort.
