Altex Epoxy Primer ensures exceptional adhesion for all coating systems, creating a high-performance foundation for marine applications. It’s suitable for a vast range of substrates and ideal for use below the waterline as a tie coat between aged epoxies and Altex Yacht & Boat Antifoulings. Altex Epoxy Primer can also be used to seal off prepared, aged coatings prior to repainting. What’s more, this epoxy primer works great for applying fairing compounds onto and for the sealing of completed, sanded fairing systems.

  • Recommended film thickness per coat: 111 microns wet to obtain 50 microns dry
  • Dry times (50 μm DFT / 25°C / 50% RH): 1 hour (touch dry) | 8 hours (hard dry)
  • Recoat Times (50 μm DFT / 25°C / 50% RH):
    • Self recoat: 2 hours (minimum), 3 months (maximum)
    • Overcoat with other epoxy: 2 hours (minimum), 3 months (maximum)
    • Antifouling: 2 hours (minimum), 48 hours (maximum)
