Installed this toilet in a motor home. Almost from day one it allowed odours from the black tank to escape into the bathroom. The unit was swapped over and the replacement did the same. We chose this unit because the unit has a smaller footprint than most. This was a mistake as it was problematic to find another in the same style that would fit the now installed plumbing.
Figured that I had nothing to lose so pulled it apart. To my amazement unlike Other toilets of similar design there was no seal between the top and bottom halves. In fact the design did not allow even for the retrofitting or manufacture of a seal. Filled all the irregular fitting surfaces with an appropriate sealant and no more smells. time will tell just how long we can put off the sizeable job of fitting an alternative.
