The Reel
Another solid offering from industry-leading brand Shimano, the Shimano Grappler BB 150HG Baitcaster Reel is a low-profile reel specially engineered for light saltwater jigging, also great in deep freshwater situations. The tough, lightweight Hagane body is more compact than traditional jigging reels. It's fitted with a single power handle for increased winding torque, a reliable star drag and X-Protect water protection.

If you like to vertically jig with light and medium lures, using lightweight rods, you will quickly appreciate the unique features of the Shimano Grappler BB 150HG Baitcaster Reel. Weighing in at only 210g, it balances modern lightweight jigging rods like the Grappler BB range perfectly, creating a super light combination that reduces fatigue during long sessions. Compared to traditional, heavier round reel alternatives, the Grappler BB is a dream to use and noticeably enhances your jigging technique, whilst generating excellent winding power through the single handle.

Hagane Body
The Hagane Body is a metal reel body with high rigidity. The body rigidity and impact resistance virtually eliminate body flexing on the reel while fighting a fish. The result transforms the angler's actions directly into cranking power.

X-Protect
X-Protect provides high-level water resistance to the inside bearing of drive gear shaft with waterproof construction.

Cross Carbon Drag
The Cross Carbon Drag provides smooth drag release and durability.

S A-RB Bearings
S A-RB bearings are put through the same process as Shimano's A-RB bearings but feature shields on both sides of the bearings. These shields reduce the possibility of salt or sand inhibiting the rotation of the bearing.

Level-wind Interlocking
The spool and level wind are interlocked. The line is released in a straight line, allowing the lure to fall smoothly. The drag operates smoothly even when fishing with a fine line.

60mm Power Handle
60mm power handle for easy jig manipulation. A 60mm power handle is standard. This enables more stable and powerful reeling than ever before, even in situations where heavier jigs are used frequently or in fights with large Bluefish.

The Rod

The Shimano Engetsu BB Medium Heavy Spiral Wrap Overhead Rod with spiral-mounted rod guides prevent the rod from twisting under load, provide an improved balance, and less chance of knots. The Taftec Alpha tip provides great sensitivity and the progressive curve of the rod stimulates the right lure action and provides fish fighting fun.
