The Reel

The NASCI also equipped with the new CoreProtect technology on line roller that greatly improves water resistance and corrosion protection. HAGANE Gear
The HAGANE Drive Gear is produced by Shimano's cold forging technology, without the need for additional machining. This delivers long lasting smoothness, strength, lightness and power at the very heart of the reel. Traditional diecast, machined gears are less durable under heavy loads.

X-Ship
By supporting the pinion gear on both ends with the S-ARB bearings and integrating bigger drive gear, Shimano increased the gearing efficiency and power. This results in a fishing reel with ultra-light handle rotation; less effort and power giving a perfect rotation even under heavy loads.

CoreProtect
The concept of CoreProtect is simple - to provide water resistance without creating a heavy rotation feeling. There are three key areas of the reel the require protection; the roller clutch, the body and the line roller.

G Free Body
G Free Body technology has been developed to shift the reel's centre of gravity closer to the rod. By moving the centre of gravity closer to your hand position, the G Free Body helps to reduce fatigue and enhance casting comfort.

AR-C Spool Management System
Through tens of thousands of casting tests and computer simulations it has been determined that this new AR-C spool lip design provides longer casting distances than a standard spool lip design while preventing backlashes and wind knots from forming. It also allows the line to flow off the spool in smaller loops during the cast, which means less slap on the stripper guide. This means longer casts with less friction.
