The Reel
The Shimano Twin Power XD FB C3000HG Spinning Reel is designed to blend sensitivity and power, offering anglers a significant advantage in challenging fishing conditions. Featuring a lightweight rotor, hybrid body construction, and a new X-Protect line roller for enhanced durability and water resistance. In addition to the massive Hagane Body, the addition of Infinity Cross and Infinity Drive improves gear durability and winding power. The new material of the drag washer Duracross provides overwhelming abrasion resistance and smooth and reliable drag performance. Moreover, Infinity Loop improves casting feel, new X-Protect reduces intrusion of foreign matter into the line roller, and anti-twist fin reduces line trouble were newly equipped to further evolve the comfort of use in tough environments.
The Rod
Direct from Shimano JDM range, the new Shimano Lunamis S86ML Spinning Rod concentrates Shimano’s latest technologies: an ultimate level of lightweight and sensitivity is reached thanks to Spiral X Core blank, Carbon Monocoque handle, Ci4+ Perfection reel seat and a combination of Shimano X Guide and Fuji Titanium SiC guides.
Spiral X Core
Spiral X core uses carbon infinity tape wrapped in opposing directions up the inside and outside of the blank. The carbon infinity tape utilises Toray Nano Alloy technology to increase torsional and structural rigidity by 10-15 without adding extra weight to the blank.
Hi-Power X
In Hi-Power X construction, the blank's outermost layer is diagonally wrapped with carbon tape, which forms an array of "X" shapes. The width of the tape, its winding angle and the part of the rod being wrapped are fine-tuned according to the target fish species. The flexibility allows Shimano to adjust these wraps during construction for precise actions, enhanced overall strength and added twist resistance. In short, Hi-Power X construction delivers sharp and crisp rod control by the angler.
Nano Pitch
Shimano uses a manufacturing method that wraps the moulding tape used in the process of baking blanks at an extremely fine pitch. Since the blanks are tightened with more uniform pressure, the roundness is increased, which greatly contributes to higher strength.
Carbon Monocoque
The Carbon Monocoque is an integrated hollow rear grip that is made from carbon. This advanced design removes the need for other materials to be wrapped on to the blank, is extremely lightweight, and offers excellent transfer of vibration from the blank to the hand. When compared with existing grips, the Carbon Monocoque is up to 10g lighter and increases sensitivity by up to 130%, enabling you to feel every vibration of a lure and the exact moment a fish attacks. Extensive testing has delivered excellent results producing outstanding performance, and the Carbon Monogrip design gives Shimano more options to develop much more sensitive rods for many other fishing disciplines.
