Bigger, better, bolder
The
Shimano Ocea Jigger 1000 HG and Grappler Type J B684
Slow Jig Combo is specially designed to handle the rigours
of modern slow jigging. The Shimano Ocea Jigger reel's components
ensure superior casting while the new Grappler rod takes comfort
and performance to a whole new level.
The Reel
The
Shimano Ocea Jigger 1000 HG Jigging Reel just
got an overhaul. The flagship of Shimano's saltwater jigging reels
now comes with new exciting features like Infinity Drive and Micro
Module Gear, which reduces 60% of the reeling resistance compared
to the old model. The new handle is especially designed to provide
a firm grip and the ability to give extra power without losing
grip.
The combination of Hagane body and S-compact body results in an
immensely strong and though lightweight jigging reel. The 8
shielded A-RB ball bearings and X-Protect provides smooth operation
plus saltwater protection. The HG version with a gear ratio of
6:2.1 is ideal for jigging at high tempo and for active bite
activity. Plus, with a drag of 7kg, fighting the biggest fish is
not a problem anymore.
MicroModule
The addition of the MicroModule gear technology to the worm shaft
reduces oscillation vibration. This is an incredible breakthrough
in design and delivers an outstanding level smoothness without
sacrificing strength or durability.
HAGANE Body
HAGANE Body means this reel has a high rigidity and zero twist. The
body stiffness and impact resistance virtually eliminates body
flexing. The result transforms the anglers actions directly into
cranking power. It's efficiency through strength.
X-Protect
By combining our water repellent coating and our specially
designed, water channeling labyrinth construction, X-Protect
provides high-level water resistance without sacrificing light gear
and rotor rotation.
E.I. Anti-Corrosion Surface Treatment
After the adonisation process is finished, a second layer of
surface treatment is added. This treatment is forced into the
remaining surface impurities. This gives salt no hideout and also
results in an extremely smooth-to-the-touch finish. A reel with
E.I. treatment has more than double the corrosion resistance of a
standard anodised reel.
Shielded Anti-Reverse Bearings
These bearings have been through the same process as the A-RB
bearings, but feature shields on both sides of the bearings that
reduce the possibility of salt or sand inhibiting the bearings'
rotation.
Super Free
The Super Free bearing-supported pinion gear system (SF) was
designed to eliminate friction on the spool shaft during the cast.
In standard baitcasting reels, when the clutch bar is pressed down,
the pinion gear is freed and can actually drag on the spool shaft,
creating friction and limiting the length of the cast. With SF, the
pinion gear is supported by a ball bearing and when the clutch is
disengaged the pinion hear and spool shaft are kept in precise
alignment. THe result is zero friction on the spool shaft for
increased freespool.
The Rod
The
Shimano Grappler Type J B684 Slow Jig Overhead
Rod is 6'8'' long - a specific length designed for the
taper of the rod to work its magic on the jig. The sensitive tip on
the rod allows for good line tension control to cater to changing
fishing conditions. And what's more it features both Spiral X and
Hi-Power X blank construction for increased strength and less power
loss during jerking and fighting.
Spiral X
Spiral X construction consists of three layers: a blank made of
vertical fibres, an inner layer and an outer layer, both comprising
of carbon tape that tightly winds the blank diagonally in opposite
directions. By using this carbon tape in place of a conventional
horizontal fibre sheet, Spiral X achieves enhanced torsional
rigidity without adding extra weight. This in turn facilitates
instant power transmission for precise casting and for fighting
fish. Through its exclusive lightweight structure, Shimano's Spiral
X construction enhances your "catching power".
Hi-Power X
In Hi-Power X construction, the blank's outermost layer is
diagonally wrapped with carbon tape which forms an array of "X"
shapes. The width of the tape, its winding angle, and the part of
the rod being wrapped are fine-tuned according to the target fish
species. The flexibility allows Shimano to adjust these wraps
during construction for precise actions, enhanced overall strength
and added twist resistance. In short, Hi-Power X construction
delivers sharp and crisp rod control.
