Air Rotor
Especially for reels with the oil barrier (Mag Sealed reels) mechanism, Daiwa have developed a complete new Air Rotor. So the enormous strains which affect the rotor via the line and the line roller are better distributed. This causes less pressure on the single parts of the rotor. The new rotor is 15% more light weighted than usual rotors of the same material - this reduces vibrations and enhances the rotational balance thanks to a very low centre of gravity. Under the same strain, a conventional rotor is much more distorted than an Air Rotor, since here the strain is scattered over the whole rotor and not concentrated to one point.

TwistBuster II
Line Twist Occurs in the rotor rotation was said to be an inevitable consequence of fishing with spin reels. Carbon Design
The secret to the Daiwa Laguna X Surf 1303HFS Surfcasting Rod is Daiwa's carbon design, compared to conventional carbon material, Daiwa's carbon fibres are laid longitudinally with minimal resin use, then rolled at extremely high temperatures and pressure to produce an exceptionally light but super strong blank. By increasing the fibre quantity and massively decreasing the resin quantity it has created increase muscle in a slimmer profile blank, thus resulting in an even stronger, leaner, lighter, sharper rod than ever before. These blanks are incredibly fast and 'tippy' but fold away under pressure in an even arch to displace load through the whole blank for maximum fighting power.
