Loaded with flagship features, the Shimano Exsence Compact 3000 MHGA Spinning Reel provides everything you need in a featherweight package. To ensure maximum longevity in salt water, X Protect employs an internal labyrinth structure that repels water entry, even when exposed to heavy spray. Hagane Gear, Hagane Body and X-Ship combine to provide a balance between strength and smooth winding. Additionally, Rapid Fire and Rigid Support Drag systems provide drag power adjustment at will, and silky line release.

HAGANE Body The HAGANE Body is a metal reel body with high rigidity. The body rigidity and impact resistance virtually eliminate body flexing on the reel while fighting a fish. The result transforms the angler's actions directly into cranking power. It's efficiency through strength.

HAGANE Gear
The HAGANE Drive Gear is produced by Shimano's cold forging technology, without the need for additional machining. This delivers long lasting smoothness, strength, lightness and power at the very heart of the reel. Traditional diecast, machined gears are less durable under heavy loads.

Rapid Fire Drag
Allows anglers to change the drag cam on the reel within seconds. The system changes the drag curve on the reel to cater to specific techniques or fisheries. Reels equipped with the Rapid Fire system come standard with a Long Range Special (LRS) curve and up to 7 other Rapid Fire cams are available as accessories.

Rigid Support Drag
Rigid Support Drag eliminates spool movement and wobble, even at light drag settings. The result is an incredibly smooth drag even at extremely light settings.

X-Ship
X-Ship provides improved gear durability. By supporting the pinion gear on both ends with bearings, the pinion gear maintains precise alignment with the drive gear. This increased support allows the gears to stay in the same position under the heaviest loads. X-Ship technology also eliminates the friction between the spool shaft and gear to further benefit anglers with enhanced casting performance and casting distance of lighter lures.
